When you can make changes to your benefits

Some of the benefits at HCA UK are only available to choose or change at certain times of the year or after a certain period; others are available all year round. When Beneflex is ready for you to make your selections, a window will open to allow you select, change or adjust your benefit choices. The window usually opens on or around the 7th of every month and closes on the last day of the month (except for the GymFlex window).

June window (Mid-Year Enrolment)

The mid-year enrolment window is in June. During this window you can tailor most of your benefit selections, including joining the Healthcare Trust Scheme and choosing the Private GP Service if you haven’t already. Any changes made in June will take effect from the 1st July and the window is open from the 7th until the 30th June.

December window (Annual Enrolment)

Some benefits are only available to choose or change during the Annual Enrolment window in December such as:

  • Critical Illness
  • Travel Insurance
  • Life Assurance
  • Buy/Sell Annual Leave

Any changes made in December will take effect from 1st January the following year. The dates for this window may change each year and will be advertised during November.

Monthly windows (Anytime & GymFlex)

A range of benefits can still be selected or adjusted during a monthly window. You could adjust your pension contributions, get a new gym membership with GymFlex, buy new tech, and more.

The Anytime window opens 7th to the last day of the month and the GymFlex window opens 7th to 20th of the month. Any changes made during in these windows will be effective from the 1st of the following month.

Lifestyle events

We always want you to have the package that suits you best. So as well as enabling you to change your benefit choices during annual enrolment windows, we also give you the opportunity to make adjustments if your circumstances change in what HMRC would recognise as a ‘lifestyle event’, such as:

  • Birth or adoption of a child
  • Getting married, separated or divorced
  • Experiencing the death of a spouse, partner or dependant
  • Paternity leave or maternity leave beginning or ending

You can request a lifestyle event via the ‘change in circumstance’ feature in Beneflex.

Bear in mind that if you don’t make your changes before the requested lifestyle event window closes, you may need to wait for the next mid-year or annual enrolment, depending on the changes.
